COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,033 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases stood at 24,577, up 6.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Another five deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as "brought in dead".

These deaths were reported in Perak (3) and Johor (2).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,730 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 54 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.

There are 959 Covid-19 patients hospitalised of which 32 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (114) followed by Sabah (75) and Johor (66).
