Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin today indicated that coalition members may not be allowed to use their own logos in the next general election.

Speaking at the Kedah PN function today, Hamzah (above) said allegations that voters might confuse the PN logo for BN's could not be entertained.

This, he added, was because BN's logo contained a "scale" while PN's logo contained just the words "Perikatan Nasional".

"We are the only (coalition) with the words 'Perikatan Nasional' (in our logo)... The colour does not matter. It's that simple," said Hamzah, according to Sinar Harian.

However, Hamzah said PN's logo can be changed after the general election, if necessary.

"For now, let's stick to the logo... God willing, after we win the election and come to power, we can make a new logo.

"By then, the Kedah menteri besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor can go from one village to another to show off our new logo," said the Larut MP.

Previously, Sanusi, who is the Kedah PAS head and national PAS election strategist, had suggested that the PN logo be tweaked because the current blue theme resembled that of BN.

PAS members, said Sanusi, would not like the "BN blue".

Separately, Sanusi told reporters that Kedah PN components enjoyed a strong and stable relationship.

"The only point of friction is with BN. We're not sure if they want to be friends or enemies," he said.
