Parti Cinta Malaysia names new candidate for Bukit Bendera

Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) today announced that the BN candidate from the party, Razalif Mohd Zain, for the Bukit Bendera parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15), has been replaced by another candidate.

When announcing the BN candidates for parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi named Razalif as the coalition's candidate for the seat in Penang.

PCM president Huan Cheng Guan, when contacted, said that yesterday his party had a discussion and decided on PCM Youth chief Richie Huan Xin Yun as its candidate to represent BN in place of Razalif.

"We have held discussions and have carried out screenings for suitable candidates. The candidate who will represent us is a local (from Penang)... he is the most suitable candidate to contest the seat," he said.

Huan said the decision to change the candidate was also made after taking into account the demographics, and welfare of the people and voters in the Bukit Bendera constituency.

He said PCM, as a Friends of BN party, was thankful to Zahid for giving it the opportunity to contest in GE15.

Earlier this morning, there were rumours going around about the possibility of Razalif being replaced as the BN's candidate for the Bukit Bendera seat.

Last week, Pakatan Harapan announced DAP candidate Syerleena Abdul Rashid as its choice for Bukit Bendera, Perikatan Nasional named Gerakan candidate H'ng Chee Wey for the seat while Parti Rakyat Malaysia will be fielding Teh Yee Cheu.

Nomination is on Saturday (Nov 5), early voting is on Nov 15 and polling is on Nov 19.
