'Razman should be careful, given history of losing defamation suits'

Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria continues to draw flak for claiming that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has an LGBT agenda and is a DAP puppet.

PKR Youth deputy chief Kamil Munim urged Razman to apologise to Anwar over the baseless claims.

"Razman should be more careful. He cannot repeat the same mistake.

"He has lost many defamation suits, and this is the 'matured political culture' that PAS preaches,” Kamil, who is the Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Padang Rengas parliamentary seat, told a crowd of about 100 people in Lubok Merbau, Perak, last night.

As such, Razman (above) should issue an open apology for his "evil" accusations against Anwar and Harapan, he added.

Razman on Sunday repeatedly warned passers-by during a walkabout at the Tebuk Pancur night market to vote against Harapan and BN.

He alleged that Anwar, who is leading Harapan, is a person who has LGBT agenda and wants to legalise same-sex marriage. Razman further claimed that Anwar would be handing power over to the DAP.

Anwar is demanding RM5 million in damages and a public apology from Razman over the accusations. In addition, the police are also probing Razman for his remarks after PKR lodged reports against him.

It is worth noting that Razman has previously lost two defamation suits, against former Perak menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin and against DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng.

Meanwhile, Kamil urged the PAS leadership to rein in Razman from continuing to spurt such allegations.

"Who is this Razman? Where is he recognised, compared to Anwar who is a globally recognised Islamic leader?

"The PAS leadership should sternly reprimand Razman to not repeat the same mistake, and he should repent from doing things that do not reflect Islamic teachings," Kamil added.
