Three months after Umno, Annuar mulls joining new party

Three months after being sacked from Umno, former Ketereh MP Annuar Musa said the time has come for him to consider joining another political party.

He said he had spent the time since his dismissal for introspection and to watch the nation’s political trends.

Now, he is “seriously considering” continuing his political journey by joining a suitable party that is aligned with his cause and would champion race, religion, and the nation.

“May there be a party that is willing to allow me to serve as their ordinary member,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Annuar (above) was one of several Umno dissidents sacked in December last year in wake of the 15th general election. He did not appeal his dismissal.

Since his dismissal, he started recruitment for an NGO called “Muafakat Nasional”, which he said is not political and aims to organise activities to promote the Rukun Negara and Federal Constitution.

The group also aims to protect the position of the Malay rulers, special positions of the Malays and bumiputera, safeguarding the interests of other ethnic groups, the Malay language, and the interests of a plural society.

Annuar had also claimed to have been approached by PAS after his termination but he said at the time that the timing was too soon after his “divorce” with Umno.
