PBM to sit out S’gor polls, throws support behind Harapan state govt

Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) has decided not to contest the upcoming Selangor state election.

Instead, Selangor PBM said it will throw its full support behind the federal government and the current state government led by Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

“We believe that the Madani government is the best political platform to bring political stability which is important in the process of restoring the country’s economy.

“Since its formation, the Madani government has made significant advances in promoting peace and harmony and we in PBM would like to ensure this positive momentum is not disrupted,” said the Selangor PBM information department in a statement today.

This unanimous decision came after the Selangor PBM committee held a meeting with party president Larry Sng yesterday.

Selangor PBM also strongly condemned the actions of certain quarters from the opposition, which the party said have consistently fanned racial tensions for political interests without taking into account the long-term socioeconomic effects.

“As a political party that holds to the ‘Bangsa Malaysia’ principles, we reject any hate and discrimination that goes against the noble values of Malaysian society.

“As such, in order to defend the principles and idealism of ‘Bangsa Malaysia’, Selangor PBM will mobilise all our machinery voluntarily to help the Madani government in defending all the seats in Selangor,” it said.
