PN's menteri besar candidates will be state polls 'poster boys'

Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) menteri besar candidates will be its “poster boys” in the upcoming six state polls, said the coalition’s election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

“In Negeri Sembilan, we will have a candidate for the menteri besar position from PN. In Selangor, there is also a candidate for menteri besar from PN.

“These are the ‘poster boys’. We will highlight our menteri besar candidate,” he said at a press conference at a hotel in Ampang this evening, in conjunction with the #Aid4Turkiye&Syria fundraising event.

Also present at the event were PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, and PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.

The six states facing elections are Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Terengganu, and Kelantan.

PAS will lead PN’s polls effort in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah.

Meanwhile, Sanusi (above) said seat allocation between the coalition’s component parties - PAS, Bersatu, and Gerakan - has been finalised at the state level.

“We have finalised the allocation of seats at the state level. At the national level, we will adjust according to the necessities,” he said.

He said PN has also appointed a mas'ul (coordinator) in these states.

“So, any issues that don’t need to go to the national level have to go through the mas'ul. It is for quicker resolution and decision-making,” he said.
