Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin has called on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s political foes to put up or shut up and declare their assets.

“Those who continue to attack Anwar, I dare them to declare assets. Show yourself to be clean, transparent, and accountable to the rakyat.

“Anwar is the only prime minister in the history of Malaysia who has declared assets. No one else.

“PKR is the only party in the history of Malaysia, where all the candidates declared assets before entering the 15th general election. No one else,” Sim said on Facebook.

Recently, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad called on Anwar to declare the wealth he had amassed when he was a deputy prime minister and finance minister in the 1990s.

He was rebuffed when Anwar pointed out he had already done so in November, before GE15.

“My RM11 million declaration of total assets includes my house in Segambut.

“That is not a secret and is public knowledge,” Anwar said.

The Pakatan Harapan chairperson declared a net asset of RM11.18 million in November last year, of which RM828,667.83 was in cash assets and RM10.35 million in real estate properties.

Anwar had previously reiterated calls for Mahathir to reveal how much the nonagenarian and his family are worth, which is now the subject of an RM150 million defamation suit.

‘Clean break’ needed

Mahathir also engaged PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang over his Malay Proclamation.

Sim claimed that power-crazy forces are now forming an unholy alliance to destabilise the unity government.

“Their only interest is to form the government so that they can escape any investigation or corruption charges.

“Malaysia needs a clean break from old, corrupt, toxic politics. We must move towards a Malaysia that is stable, clean, and with good governance,” he added.

The PKR lawmaker called on Malaysians to give Anwar and the government a chance.

“Stop politicking. Let’s move Malaysia forward together,” Sim said.
