Kedah polls: BN and Harapan to use own logos

BN and Pakatan Harapan will be using their respective logos in the upcoming state election, said Kedah Umno chief Mahdzir Khalid.

Mahdzir said this was decided by the state chapters of both parties but the party headquarters have yet to provide any feedback, according to Sinar Harian.

He said this to reporters after the Unity Government National Convention at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre yesterday.

Similarly, Selangor was unlikely to see BN and Harapan sharing a logo as well.

According to PKR central leadership council member Elizabeth Wong, the sharing of a common logo between the two coalitions has not been raised.

"It might be an issue in other states, but not in Selangor," said Wong, adding that she had no objections to BN using Harapan's logo in the state.

Wong was speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the Bukit Lanjan constituency Aidilfitri open house event yesterday.

Previously, Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan revealed that some unity government parties are considering using the BN logo on their ballot slips during the upcoming state elections.

In a related development, when Mahdzir was asked if BN and Harapan had agreed on a candidate for the Kedah menteri besar, he replied in the negative.

"We will have a 'poster boy' but it will be decided by the central leadership," he said.
