BUDGET 2024 | Tax reliefs up to RM2,000 for the fees of skills courses or self-improvement courses will be extended up to assessment year 2026, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
This is to encourage the people to improve their skills and venture into new fields, he said.
“The government will also expand the scope of lifestyle tax reliefs including fees for self-improvement courses such as language courses, photography courses, sewing courses and so on,” Anwar said while tabling Budget 2024 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
To encourage more people to be more interested in sports, the prime minister said the government will also introduce tax reliefs for the purchase of sports equipment and sports activities, up to RM1,000.
This tax relief will also include fees for sports training.
Aside from encouraging people to be more active and healthy, he said sports can also be an important platform to build rapport among multi-racial and multi-religious Malaysians.
