Former premier Najib Abdul Razak has been discharged from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) and is back in prison after recovering from Covid-19.
Najib was taken to the hospital on Oct 31 after reportedly suffering a fever.
On Nov 2, his aide Muhamad Mukhlis Maghribi said that Najib had contracted Covid-19 after a doctor examined him.
In a statement today, he said that a second hospital test found that the former prime minister had recovered from the disease as it was negative.
"After the doctors did a final check today, Najib was allowed to return to Kajang prison," Mukhlis said.
Najib is serving a 12-year jail sentence at the Kajang prison.
He was found guilty of corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving RM42 million from state-owned SRC International Sdn Bhd.
