Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim said he will sue Bersatu information chief Razali Idris over the latter’s allegation that he received an inducement in exchange for declaring support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Azizi (above) said the accusation amounted to slander and denied being offered any kind of consideration.

“This is wrong and is the worst slander.

“I will file summons against him (Razali) for accusing me of receiving a bribe,” he said when contacted by Malaysiakini.

On Nov 11, Razali claimed there were elements of graft involved in inducing four Bersatu MPs to declare support for Anwar.

Besides Azizi, they are Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), and Zahari Kechik (Jeli).

“In their case, we believe there were inducements... We are considering legal action, including lodging a report with MACC,” Razali said.

Previously, Kelantan Bersatu chairperson Kamarudin Md Nor expressed shock after Azizi became the third Perikatan Nasional MP to pledge support for Anwar.

Meanwhile, Kelantan Bersatu information chief Bahari Mohamad Nor claimed Azizi confided that a political broker was making generous monetary offers and other benefits for opposition MPs who declared support for Anwar.

However, Azizi denied the claim and said he would address the accusations in a statement soon.

“The state chairperson has twisted my words. I’ve said something else, but they made a different interpretation,” he said.

On Nov 10, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin said his party would lodge reports to the police and the MACC regarding alleged graft and blackmailing to induce his party’s MPs to support Anwar.

He also claimed the party had gathered evidence to support the allegation.

Yesterday, Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal claimed there were two individuals responsible for drawing away opposition MPs, namely a certain “Datuk Botak” and Anwar’s former political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador.

However, Farhash clapped back against the allegation, saying it was malicious slander and that he would take legal action against Wan Fayshal.
