Amanah polls: Dr Dzul bags most votes in central committee race

Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad bagged the most votes in the Amanah central committee race.

He received 900 votes from delegates, followed closely by former federal territories minister Khalid Abd Samad who obtained 899 votes.

Incumbent Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, meanwhile, came in eighth place with 613 votes.

Similar to DAP, Amanah’s party polls aim to elect the party's central committee and not the top positions.

The newly elected central committee then convenes to decide on who should be the party president, deputy president, and so on.

Among those who have been voted out of the central committee this year are veteran activist Mazlan Aliman and Johor Amanah chief Aminolhuda Hassan.

The Amanah leaders who form the 27-member central committee are as follows:
