PAS has filed an appeal against a court decision compelling it and two others to pay RM656,233.69 to the former printer of the party's organ Harakah.

The party, its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and Harakah's publisher Galeri Media Serbaneka Sdn Bhd filed the application on Dec 14.

Plaintiffs NAJ Press Resources (M) Sdn Bhd and its predecessor Angkatan Edaran Enterprise Sdn Bhd have been trying to recover their debts since 2019.

Lawyer Putra Taulan Rasul, representing the plaintiff, said he received the notice of appeal yesterday and case management has been fixed for Jan 11, 2024.

On Dec 5, the Shah Alam Sessions Court awarded NAJ Press Resources' claim through summary judgment.

Previously, NAJ Press Resources manager Hussin Jan said they hoped to recover the funds soon because the company's founder Azlan Jan needed the money for medical treatment.

Hussin also suggested that Harakah had owed NAJ Press Resources and Angkatan Edaran Enterprise far over the court award.
