Indians told to teach Anwar a lesson for 'breaking promises'
10.00pm: Batang Kali, Selangor - Malaysian Indian People Party (MIPP) president P Punithan is asking Indian voters not to trust Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
In a speech here, he explains that this is because Anwar has not kept his promises to the Indian community.
“Before the general election, Anwar says Indian children are his children. After winning, he says Indian children should not be envious of the bumiputera. What kind of leader is this?
“But, don’t forget. After three years, at the next general election, Anwar will come knocking on your doors again, renewing his promises to the Indian community.
“So, for this by-election, we need to teach Anwar and Pakatan Harapan a lesson,” Punithan says during Perikatan Nasional’s Majlis Ramah Mesra event tonight.

Also present are Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement chairperson Ng Yap Hwa, activist Teoh Lee Lan, along with several members.
They are raising their demands with Chang, which includes having a meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The minister, in an interview, says he promises to pass along the message.
“We will help convey their request because I have already talked to them and understand their situation. I have promised to convey it to the prime minister because they want to meet him.”

Firefighters recovered their bodies some 30m downstream (above) at 1.35pm.
Following the incident, Pakatan Harapan candidate Pang Sock Tao cancelled her 4pm campaign activity to visit the family of the victims at the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital.

‘This is why Indian problems don’t get resolved’
1pm: Former Klang MP Charles Santigo has reminded the people that he wants the Madani government of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to succeed.
He said that after he had tweeted that “there is a disconnect between the Selangor government and Indians” some have attempted to create the false impression he was against the prime minister.
“This is exactly why Indian problems do not get resolved in the country.
“Remember not too long ago when I campaigned ferociously for @anwaribrahim? Despite being dropped from the race, I stood staunchly behind Harapan. I asked people to vote for Harapan. I remain the same person,” said Charles in a brief statement.

He added that being critical of the government wasn’t a crime.
“I want Harapan to do better. If you read my tweets carefully, without an agenda, you will see I want Anwar’s government to succeed.
“So, instead of politicking to score quick brownie points, let’s go to the ground to listen to the grievances of the Indians. And let’s ensure those aspirations form policies that will actually uplift them.
