Learn from Bangladesh, PKR MP warns govt in 'political poem'

Veteran PKR politician Hassan Abdul Karim has warned those in federal power to learn from the people’s uprising in Bangladesh which saw the resignation of its prime minister, Sheikh Hasina.
Unlike his often strongly worded criticisms of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s administration, the outspoken Pasir Gudang MP today penned what he called a “political poem” that captured a hope for “real change”:
“They started with attacking press
Then control judiciary
After silencing opposition parties
Attacking civil societies
And day after day manufacturing all sorts of lies
These kinds of governments will have no moral high ground.
Their time frame of existence has already been numbered.
Continue the struggle for a real change.”
Hassan added that he wrote the poem in support of Malaysiakini, following a police investigation against three of its journalists, as well as Anwar’s claim yesterday that a Malaysiakini columnist incorrectly translated his statement.
In the past, Hassan had issued stern warnings to Anwar and the federal government, while on other occasions defending the administration against harsher criticisms.
