PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang claimed that Malays have become “servants to other parties”, lamenting that the community was indulging in infighting.

“In the past, the prophets were instructed to guide their respective communities like how Moses led the Jews.

“Similarly, we also want Malay politicians to strengthen the community first.

“However, we are now against each other, with the Malays ‘serving’ other parties,” he said on Facebook.

It should be noted that on Aug 23, Hadi accused Umno of being corrupted by money politics, calling the party as being worse than Dajjal.

He alleged that Umno and its ally Pakatan Harapan used materialism as their main weapon to hold on to power by evil means, including during the recent Nenggiri polls which Umno won.

Livid over Hadi’s remarks, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi retaliated by saying: “It is them who is the Dajjal.”

His deputy Mohamad Hasan, however, was indifferent towards the Marang MP’s statement.

“It’s okay. If that is how he understands the Quran, then just let him be.

“I can’t argue because I am not as religious as he is,” the foreign minister was reported as saying.

In Islam, Dajjal is an evil figure who would deceive people during the end of time and lead them away from the faith. The Christian equivalent would be the anti-Christ.

‘Go out and vote’

On that note, Hadi stressed the need for Muslims to go out and vote to ensure Muslims remain in control of the country.

He cited the time after Prophet Muhammad’s passing when even ulama took up arms after Madinah came under threat from its enemies.

“It was an emergency back then, therefore, everyone was required to embark on a jihad.

“The same applies during an election where we must ensure Muslims rule the country or elect leaders who will uphold righteousness and reject evil.

“However, many Malaysians think casting votes is not compulsory,” he added.
