Political parties from across the divide and a coalition of NGOs are organising rallies in Kuala Lumpur on Friday and Saturday to condemn Israel's continuous attacks on Palestine.

They are to be held in conjunction with the one year anniversary of the ongoing Israel aggression on Gaza.

According to their respective invitations, Amanah and two coalitions of NGOs, namely Sekretariat Palestin Malaysia (SPM) and Palestine Solidarity Secretariat (SSP), will be holding their protests after Friday prayer at the Tabung Haji headquarters' mosque in Kuala Lumpur.

It was unclear if the Pakatan Harapan component party and the NGOs are working together to mobilise their supporters or are having separate rallies at the same location.

SPM and SSP are also planning to march to the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, which is located less than a kilometre from the mosque.

"Israel is committing endless atrocities towards Palestinians. Let's show our solidarity with Palestine, stand together to defend humanity," said the groups' invitation.

Wear Palestine colours

PAS Women is also organising a similar rally in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

The “Himpunan 1 Tahun Taufan Al-Aqsa” is scheduled to start at 2.30pm in the city centre.

The Islamist party’s women’s wing called for rally participants to wear Palestine flag colours and bring along Palestine flags and mafla or scarf to show their support.

However, its rally organising committee did not specify which part of Kuala Lumpur the protest will be held.
