Flood situation in Sabah, S'wak unchanged this morning

The flood situation in Sabah and Sarawak remains unchanged this morning, with 309 people still taking shelter at three relief centres in both states.

In Sabah, the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported that the number of flood victims in Kinabatangan stands at 107 from 29 families, the same as recorded at 8pm yesterday.

“Only one centre is operational in Kinabatangan, and the evacuation trend remains stable this morning,” it said.

In Sarawak, 202 people are still housed at two relief centres in the Miri division, the only area still affected by the floods.

According to its State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, as of 8am, the Beluru Community Hall continues to accommodate 137 evacuees, while SMK Bakong Beluru houses another 65.
