'I miss you every day': Wife of MH370 crew member pens love message

As the clock struck midnight yesterday and March 8 entered, it marked the 11th year since Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared.

Intan Maizura Othaman, the wife of a crew member of the ill-fated plane, took to TikTok to share a heartfelt message to her husband, Hazrin Mohamed Hasnan, who vanished together with 238 others in the 2014 tragedy.

Titled “4,018 days, 11 years MH370”, the note posted with Indonesian band Nidji's “Sumpah dan Cinta Matiku” song in the background depicted Intan Maizura's unfading love for Hazrin.

It has been a long 11 years ✈️

Not a single day goes by that I don’t think of you.

March 8th has never been just another day for me.

It’s the day everything changed, the day I learned what it truly means to carry a weight that never goes away.

To stare at your phone, hoping for a message that will never come?

Search continues

Flight MH370, carrying 239 passengers and crew, disappeared on March 8, 2014, when it was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

So far, efforts to locate the aircraft wreckage have not been successful.

The government, in a statement today, reaffirmed its commitment to continue searching for the Boeing 777-200ER registered as 9M-MRO based on credible leads.

In December last year, the cabinet agreed to accept Ocean Infinity's proposal to resume the search for the aircraft.

The new search will cover approximately 15,000sqkm in the Southern Indian Ocean.

Helping hand

In a statement, the MH370 family support group called Voice370 expressed its appreciation to the government and Ocean Infinity for continuing the search for their loved ones.

It also offered to assist in the efforts by garnering the support of qualified experts from around the world.

"These experts have given their time and expertise without expecting any rewards. Voice370 is extremely grateful to all these experts.

"We family members have endured the loss of our loved ones on MH370 since 2014 and are still waiting for a credible explanation for the loss of this aircraft and her passengers in the hope that it will help bring closure to the long-suffering families.

"We pray this wait comes to an end soon. The search must go on."
