The cabinet has been urged to consider the establishment of the Malaysian Gig Economy Commission (Segim) as the main regulatory body to ensure that the gig economy ecosystem develops sustainably.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in a statement today after chairing the committee meeting for the first time this year to refine the direction and main strategies in strengthening the country's gig industry.
