A Bersatu Youth leader has cried foul after another TikTok account of his gets blocked by the MCMC.

Na'im Brundage, who is a Bersatu Youth executive council member, said this was the eighth account the authority has blocked so far despite him having filed a judicial review against MCMC's previous actions.

"Despite the case still in court, the MCMC has continued taking action to deny my right to freedom of speech.

"Their actions that are suppressing me and the rakyat from voicing critical comments against the government on social media are clearly in contradiction of Article 10 of the Federal Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech.

"If such action is allowed to continue, suppressing the people from speaking up like this can potentially disrupt the process to provide check and balance, which is crucial for a healthy democratic system," he said in a statement today.

Further, Na'im, who is in charge of the party wing Communications and New Media Department, urged MCMC to review their "unreasonable" action.

It was reported in July last year that Na'im filed a judicial review leave application at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, seeking to unblock his two TikTok accounts.

Among the five respondents targeted by the action are the MCMC, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and the federal government.

Through the action filed on June 24, Na'im claimed that he found his two TikTok accounts got blocked three months earlier.
