Summary
Muda says its former president’s acquittal is a turning point for Malaysian politics and a symbol of truth and justice prevailing
PSM characterises Syed Saddiq as a victim of political persecution for refusing to remain with Bersatu after it left the government in 2020.
Muda has hailed its former president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s court victory as a turning point for the nation’s politics.
In a statement today, the party said that this is also a clarion call for cleaner, progressive, and principled politics, one that “truly represents the voice of the people”.
“This episode has opened all our eyes to the reality of the system we face. It has also united the voices of young people, activists, professionals and ordinary citizens - all united in one dream for a better Malaysia governed with integrity and moral courage,” Muda added.
In a unanimous decision this morning, the Court of Appeal acquitted the Muar PM of four charges of criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property, and money laundering linked to RM1.12 million of Bersatu Youth funds.
Muda labelled the decision a symbol of the triumph of truth, justice and courage, and reminded how Syed Saddiq remained firm in his stand for over five years, despite political pressure, personal attacks, and prosecutions.

"Syed Saddiq chose the most difficult path - rejecting all forms of offers and refusing to submit to negotiations for personal gain, and instead standing firm on principle.
“He chose to fight openly in court, placing his trust in the country's justice system. Today's decision is recognition of his steadfastness, extraordinary courage, and honesty.
"Muda and all Malaysians must be prepared to step into a new chapter - to save this country from the grip of old politics that has long poisoned the system and tarnished the people's hopes. Truth has finally prevailed," Muda added.
Victim of political persecution
In a separate statement welcoming Syed Saddiq's acquittal, PSM labelled the former as a mere victim of political persecution for refusing to yield to political pressure.

"From day one, Syed Saddiq's only mistake was that he didn't continue with Bersatu after it left the government in 2020. He was a victim of political persecution.
“That is why we need a free judiciary and absolute separation of powers.
“We hope Syed Saddiq returns to active politics within Muda and helps build the third force," PSM deputy chairperson S Arutchelvan said.
