Perlis MB, Razman lose in PAS central leadership polls; Shahidan gets spot
PAS MUKTAMAR | Perlis Menteri Besar Shukri Ramli and Perak opposition chief Razman Zakaria are among prominent PAS leaders who lost in the run for the party's 18 central leadership committee posts.
The PAS top leadership election for the 2025-2027 term saw PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari finishing top after garnering 1,096 votes from a total of 1,220 delegates.
PAS MUKTAMAR | Perlis Menteri Besar Shukri Ramli and Perak opposition chief Razman Zakaria are among prominent PAS leaders who lost in the run for the party’s 18 central leadership committee posts.
The PAS top leadership election for the 2025-2027 term saw PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari finishing top after garnering 1,096 votes from a total of 1,220 delegates.
Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Nor came in second with 1,062 votes, followed by Kedah exco member Haim Hilman Abdullah (1,028 votes).
Former Umno leader Shahidan Kassim, who joined the party in June 2023 and was subsequently appointed to the central leadership committee, secured 14th spot after receiving 717 votes.
Among others who also managed to secure a spot in the top leadership body are Pendang MP Awang Hashim and senator Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.
Others who lost include Kuala Langat MP Ahmad Yunus Hairi, Kuala Kedah MP Ahmad Fakhruddin Fakhrurazi, Parit Buntar MP Misbahul Munir Masduki, and Tangga Batu MP Bakri Jamaluddin.
The election only saw a competition for the committee posts as the top five positions have been won uncontested by their incumbent.
They are PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, and vice-presidents Idris Ahmad, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, and Amar Abdullah.
