What does this country want? Anwar questions focus on Loke's exit over corruption

Bobbyo: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim acts ignorant, but he should realise that he is responsible for ex-premier Najib Abdul Razak's both pardon arrangement.

The message that is sent to the people, that it is alright to be corrupt, if you are a VIP. You will be entitled to special prison facilities. Secondly, you will be entitled to as many pardons as possible.

You do not have to repay a single sen back as the people will come forward to pay your fines as well. As well your political competitors will even be ready to resign from their position.

Under these circumstances the PM have the gall to ask what the people want. Stop looking at the people for excuses or trying to divert your fault at others.

Apanama is back: Anwar is being pretentious when, under his watch, pardons, DNAA (discharge not amounting to an acquittal) decisions and even selective prosecutions took place for corruption. How about the Sabah mining issue? Until today, it is silent.

In fact, the buck stops with Anwar in the fight against corruption, not Anthony Loke. The DAP seems to have given up on Anwar. Anwar, do not “buat bodoh” (pretend to be foolish) too much in the fight against corruption. It is nauseating.

On the Other Hand: Just release the minutes of the Pardons Board meeting, and the one that immediately preceded it, by lifting the Official Secrets Act gag. It is well within the powers of the prime minister to do so unilaterally, without waiting for a court order.

Then, we will see who is really fighting corruption and who really sought to get released for “house arrest”. There is no law that provides for “house arrest”, so this attempt is also null and void.

Boboi: What do we want? Simple, Anwar: keep your word. Keep your promises. Yes, you. For me, Loke resigned as a vote of no confidence in the Madani government. And yet you continue to play the innocent and confused.

Joeganes: Good question. "The problem is corruption, theft and misappropriation. You do not raise these (issues). But you raise the issue of asking him to resign. What for?"

And now he passed the bucks back to Loke and all DAP supporters for not raising the corruption issues during the meetings in past three and a half years?

So, Loke must have been sleeping in the meetings with him or was he just focused on selling car number plates, supervising train down time and daily maintenance issues?

Headhunter: It really shows how messed up our country is when a good man is forced to resign while a convicted thief gets a red-carpet welcome from prison. People who support such individuals should be ashamed.

If Anwar truly believes Loke is an asset, he should reject Loke’s resignation outright. There’s nothing worse than trying to please your enemies and ending up weakening your own position.

Only truth: The prime minister is right that there are a lot of sick people around who vote for people or parties that have been draining the coffers, while listening to people who use religion to control our thoughts and behaviour.

Do they not realise the debt we are in and how it is going to affect us all? It is shameful when we support parties known for corruption and the use of religion to influence people. Why can’t we learn? They only care about their survival and power.

Optimus: So, this is the Pardons Board and Umno’s fault, but they are all still sitting tight while DAP is the fall guy again.

Umno does not care about what the nation wants, but it is all about what the party wants and what it can get its hands on.
