The police today called on Elizabeth Wong's ex-boyfriend to come forward and assist investigations into the circulation of her nude photographs.

The police also denied media reports that two individuals were detained in connection with the case yesterday.

Mohd Sabtu clarified that two Malay Mail journalists were called in to have their statements recorded at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters last night.

He said that for the moment, the ex-lover is the sole suspect in the case.

“He can help us solve this case,” said Mohd Sabtu at a press conference this afternoon at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent.

“He should come forward and clear his name. That is most important,” he said, adding that if he refused to come forward, the police would look for him.

police pc on anwar ibrahim 140807 mohd sabtu osman On the questioning of journalists, Sabtu said four journalists had been called for questioning so far and that the police are in possession of two photographs related to the case.

He said the police did not have any videos of Wong.

Meanwhile, Mohd Sabtu denied allegations that Wong was the victim of a “trap”.

“The police rejects allegations by certain quarters that someone set a trap in order to record the picture. Instead, the police believe that the pictures were taken by someone known to the complainant.

“What is important to the police is who took the pictures, who distributed them and what are his motives,” he said.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC II Ku Chin Wah said the police have conducted physical checks on the premises where the photos were taken and also performed forensics tests on the photographs.
