Malaysian king Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and his wife arrived Sunday in Amman for an official three-day visit at the invitation of King Abdullah II, the royal palace announced.

The Malaysian king was to have discussions with Abdullah on "the situation in the Middle East, the questions concerning the Muslim world as well as the development of the bilateral relations between Jordan and Malaysia," it added.

King Abdullah paid a visit to Malaysia in October last year.

Kuala Lumpur, the current chairman of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, has offered 1,000 soldiers for the expanded UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon.
