Court battle: Dr M vs Anwar
After more than two decades of hurling accusations at each other, Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim will be locking horns in court.
The former premier has instructed his lawyers to initiate legal action against the current prime minister over his remarks, which Mahathir claims accused him of amassing personal wealth during his tenure.
On Monday, Anwar, through his lawyers, replied to Mahathir’s letter of demand that he is prepared to face the latter in court.
In a social media post, Mahathir argued that he had ignored Anwar’s allegations in the past but was not prepared to do so now that he is prime minister.

Rosmah’s ‘glittering’ case redux
A Lebanese jeweller has refiled its suit against jailed former premier Najib Abdul Razak’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, over 43 missing pieces of jewellery.
In its statement of claim, the Beirut-based Global Royalty Trading SAL accused Rosmah of lying that the 43 items are with the police.
A total of 44 pieces of jewellery, including diamond necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and tiaras, each worth between US$124,000 (RM519,183) and US$925,000 (RM3.8 million) were hand-delivered to Rosmah on Feb 10, 2018, two months before BN lost in the 14th general election.
According to Rosmah, the authorities seized the items as part of the 1MDB investigation. However, the firm claimed that upon inspection of the seized jewellery, only one diamond bracelet from the 44 items belonging to the firm was found.

One of those villages is Kampung Sudak in Gerik, Perak, whose head lamented that the situation affects the literacy rates of children in the village.
