PM corroborates 'unethical report'
Just over two weeks ago, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim criticised a Straits Times report - that fuel subsidy cuts were due to be rolled out in June, starting with diesel - as unethical.
Anwar said then that no final decision had been made on the implementation date.
But with less than two weeks to go before June, Anwar announced last night (Tuesday) that targeted subsidies will indeed be introduced soon, starting with diesel.
While Anwar did not go into deep detail, the timing of the announcement suggests that a June rollout to cut blanket diesel subsidies is likely.
For now, what is known is that targeted diesel subsidies will only be implemented in Peninsular Malaysia for now and that vehicles used in public transportation and the shipment of goods will still be entitled to subsidies.

PAS solidarity with DAP MP
PAS expressed solidarity with DAP's Teresa Kok after the Seputeh MP received a death threat on Sunday.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said that as a citizen and lawmaker, Kok had the right to live free from fear or threats.
However, while Amanah and DAP leaders lauded PAS' show of solidarity, they also accused the latter of stoking sentiments that led to extreme acts.
