The rich to lose another subsidy
The government wants to cut the “rich” from another subsidy - education.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government wanted to ensure that education subsidies are channelled to those who need it.
At present, he said, there are more children of rich elites in subsidised education facilities such as MRSM than poor children.
Meanwhile, Anwar also revealed that the government would use net disposable income to determine who gets aid - a measure that should address urban poverty better than the one size fits all B40, M40 categories.

Madani ‘disunity’ after Mahkota
The Madani coalition’s victory in Mahkota is causing tensions within the pact instead of greater unity.
Johor BN leaders are taking potshots at Harapan and DAP, alleging that the latter have not held up their end in delivering votes from their supporters.
Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong countered that Chinese turnout in the by-election was close to 50 percent and not around 35 percent as alleged by Johor BN.

Gerakan worries for PN
Gerakan is worried that PN is losing Malay support.
This is after the coalition lost the Nenggiri and Mahkota by-elections back-to-back, with dwindling support in both contests.
Gerakan chief Dominic Lau said PN must start re-evaluating its strategies if it wants to do better in the 16th general election.
