A dog awaits adoption at the Paws Animal Welfare Society in Petaling Jaya.

Hundreds of animals, including puppies, adult dogs, kittens and adult cats, are up for adoption at the shelter.

Animals sent to the shelter are given food and medical attention, and are re-homed if there are willing takers.

However, surrenders often outnumber adoptions.
