I refer to the Malaysiakini report High Court: MACC's night interrogation illegal .

In response to this, apparently the Inspector-General of Police Musa Aman has said the police might as well stop questioning of all witnesses after 5pm every day.

I am very shocked and disgusted to further read Musa's comment that Karpal Singh's demand that police stop interrogating people after 5pm was tantamount to asking police stations to close at 5pm.

Does our country’s head of the police, in charge of over two hundred thousand police personnel, really understand the difference between ‘interrogating’ and ‘questioning’ witnesses?

If he doesn't, I fear to think what the over two hundred thousand police personnel do think of the matter.

Needless to say, the IGP’s position is a very senior position and he holds a custodian’s role through which every citizen depends on him to ensure that there is peace and order in this country.

His childish remark that those who want to lodge police reports after office hours can see Karpal Singh is totally uncalled for and unbecoming of our country’s head of the police force.

Does the IGP expect Malaysians to show him respect to him if he, being the enforcer of the law of the country, does not respect the courts’ judgements and publicly shows disdain for the law-makers of the country?
