The rakyat are not to question the RM4.4 billion saved from the removing of petrol subsidies, so says the PM. The rakyat should keep quiet and be thankful that they have such a good government. So much for transparency and good governance.

The rakyat have kept quiet the last 20-odd years and allowed the country to fall to its present state. Money spent lavishly on wasteful projects at federal level right down to local municipals. Government-linked companies being milked for selfish political agendas. Somewhere along that chain are vultures who stand to gain from government contracts and those who supply to government-linked companies.

This practice over the last two decades has spawned a culture of 'kickback' and raised dozens of useless, pseudo and proud entrepreneurs who drive around in their Mercedes-Benzes or BMWs. All because Parliament has been reduced to being a mere rubber stamp and the rakyat did not question.

The various branches of government have been systematically destroyed such that they have no independence but have merely become puppets under the powerful executive. As a result, many judges cease to be impartial and the police force, a tool of the BN government. Checks and balance are thrown out the window. All because the people cease to question.

So dear PM, I do not think that in your tenure there is sufficient trust left in the rakyat not to question and therefore allow another four years of waste and abuse. In the end, it's the rakyat that suffers. We will question and if the answers are unfavourable, we will exercise our democratic right for a more just and fair government.
