The police will be calling up 40 more people for questioning in their ongoing investigation into the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock, said Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein today.

He said that so far 33 people have been investigated until yesterday. These include 25 officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

He added that the police were doing a good job in probing the matter.

"Before this, the investigation has been on the building (from where he had fallen), the interrogation room and the place where the body was found," he told reporters this morning.

teoh beng hock fiancee 170709 left su shu hui 02 In a related matter, the police have asked Teoh's two-month pregnant fiancée Soh Sher Wei ( photo:extreme left ) and his family members to be present for questioning tomorrow.

Soh's lawyer Lim Lip Eng told Malaysiakini that they have been asked to be present at the Kajang police station at 3.30pm.

"DAP has asked me and another lawyer to be present and act for them," said the Segambut member of parliament.

He however said he was not aware of what the police wanted from Soh and Teoh's family members.

Teoh's boss Selangor exco member Ean Yong Hian Wah and his lawyer M Manoharan, who is also the Kota Alam Shah state representative, have also been called in for questioning.

They were scheduled to meet the police at the Selangor state secretariat this afternoon.

Cabinet to be briefed tomorrow

Meanwhile, Hishammuddin was reported in Bernama as saying that the Teoh matter would be investigated professionally and transparently down to the smallest detail.

He also urged all quarters not to twist the facts of the case.

The minister said that he would be reporting developments in the investigation to the

cabinet tomorrow.

"We'll see what the cabinet says. I personally see that what's being done by the police is very detailed. I want the case to be resolved speedily and carefully," he said.

Teoh, 30, was found dead last Friday. He had been picked up on Thursday about 5pm for questioning by the Selangor MACC in relation to a probe into the spending of constituency funds.

His body was found at about 1.30pm the next day on the fifth floor balcony at the building in which the MACC is housed in Shah Alam. His remains were buried yesterday.
