Pandamaran state rep Ronnie Liu has published the list of state allocation spending for three areas he oversees, ahead of his expected appearance before the Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) soon.

Other than his own area of Pandamaran, Liu who is a state Cabinet member, also controls the disbursement of RM500,000 annual state allocation for Sungai Pelek and Sungai Panjang constituencies.

NONE "I want to show people that I have nothing to hide," said Liu (left) at a press conference in Shah Alam.

He added that the documents can be downloaded from his blog. The documents have yet to be uploaded at the time of writing.

"With this detailed report, the public and the press can see for themselves how the state allocations are being channeled back to the public," he said.

Copies of the published lists furnished to the media today showed that the RM500,000 state allocation has been exhausted for Pandamaran.

Liu said he would still disburse funds for community programmes or development projects in the Pandamaran area next year.

"However, payments can only be made next year. The beneficiaries have agreed to this," said Liu.

Liu said that last year, he had published the 2008 expenditure at the end of the year on his blog but purposely compiled the list from January to September 2009 in view of the Selcat inquiry.

Three PR reps to testify

On his inquiry appearance, Liu said he was unaware of what to expect and was not required to furnish any documents tomorrow.

NONE He is one of the three Pakatan state reps, expected to testify at the Selcat inquiry. The identity of the other two is unknown.

Asked if there was any oversight mechanism over the use of state allocations, Liu said the disbursements require approval from district officers and is also subject to the state government internal audit.

"This system has been in existence since Barisan Nasional's administration. We are improving it by including pictorial evidence," he said.

The ongoing Selcat inquiry is probing how a large number of BN state reps depleted RM500,000 meant for 2008 between January and the March general elections last year.

The Selcat panel is made up of Teng who is also state legislative assembly speaker, his deputy Haniza Talha, Mohamed Azmin Ali (Bukit Antarabangsa), Saari Sungib (Hulu Klang) and Edward Lee (Bukit Gasing).

Teng: He must still come

Meanwhile, in a separate press conference speaker Teng said the public inquiry will not be calling Liu to testify tomorrow as it still has to complete with the testimonies of district officers .

However he added that Liu will be called up for questioning despite the state exco today releasing his records to the public.

"What we need is an analysis on those records. We need to analyse where the contents came from," said the speaker at a press conference after chairing a third public inquiry today.

Teng said Liu must still explain and clarify all the actions which he took.

"He should also know that we are not looking for his mistakes... he can say whatever he wants but this does not mean he will be exempted from the inquiry. He does not even know the questions that will be posed to him," said Teng.
