Freedom Flotilla: Is our anger colour blind?

your say 'When tens of thousands in Darfur got killed, raped, displaced by the Sudanese army and the armed tribesmen, where were the humanitarian activists in Malaysia?'

Fiery protests in KL against Israel's deadly attack

Upyes: There are days when I strongly feel that Israel shouldn't even exist, that the world would be much better off without such a cunning, chauvinistic, ruthless and violent political and military entity. However, there are a lot more days when I feel exactly the same about Umno.

At least, the Israelis have their Jewish legacy to uphold, and there are so many amazingly intelligent and talented Jews on earth, many of whom I greatly admire. We simply have to acknowledge and appreciate their unique contribution to the human gene pool.

I can't say the same, though, about the gene pool that produced Umno. Nevertheless, what Israel has done and is doing to the Palestinian people is more or less the same as what whites did to the blacks, or what Umno has done to the indigenous people of Malaysia.

Citizen: When tens of thousands in Darfur got killed, raped, displaced by the Sudanese army and the armed tribesmen, where were all the humanitarian activists in Malaysia? Did they go to the Sudan embassy to protest? Did they burn an effigy of President Omar Bashir? Did they step on and burn the Sudanese flag? Why? Are they not colour blind?

Are our so-called humanitarian activists practising selective discrimination? Now that it is not possible for the flotilla to reach Gaza, why not take the opportunity to divert the flotillas to Sudan?

Tell the Truth: Don't pretend that our protest to UN or US can do anything. It is good to know that people are concerned for the economic situation in Palestine. If so, then negotiate with Israel for disbursement of aids, but observe their laws of right of defence.

One tiny nation in the midst of millions of Muslim will certainly make one paranoid concerning national security. Use Mercy Malaysia or Red Cross to dispatch the humanitarian aid. Why test Israel's sovereignty?

Hopium: "Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard, but I will better the instruction."

Now put Shakespeare's words from ‘Merchant of Venice' in the context of every other nations being vilely smirched. Why not help them, too? The story of Palestine seems to be one-sided in Malaysia just because they are Muslims.

Noraini Yousoff: I am just wondering what the Malaysians were doing on board. Were there Saudi Arabians, Iranians, Pakistanis on board this boat? There seems to have been an unusually big number of Malaysians here.

Their intentions must have been good, but why did a small country like us send people on board these vessels? Going on board the boat was a bit too much. They entered a war zone. Our citizens need not have put their lives at risk that way.

Fi-sha: It is sickening to read shallow-minded comments on this matter. It is so clear that you guys know nothing about Israel and its Zionist regime and why humanitarian aid had to be deployed in that manner.

Asking those Malaysian humanitarian activists to concentrate on issues closer to home and to turn blind and deaf to other pressing humanitarian issues is like telling Malaysians not to do anything after reading what happened to:

1) A Kugan, Teoh Beng Hock and Aminulrasyid Amzah;

2) Sidelined Penans and the Bakun Dam project;

3) Corrupt civil servants and politicians;

4) Abused animals in our homes, zoos and in the wild;

5) Lawbreaking lawmakers; etc.

I suspect BN would remain in power for another 50 years... thanks to you guys!

Amaso: Let's work out alternatives to protests. Since the US government is the staunchest supporter of the Israeli regime, get as many countries as possible to stop buying US goods, including military, medical supplies, consumer products, etc. We are sure there are alternative products produced by other countries that are moderate and fair in their foreign policies.

By doing so, the world can isolate the US government (not US people) and make them feel the pinch. The United Nations has passed numerous resolutions against Israel. International

forums also have passed similar resolutions. All these have not worked.

In this respect, Malaysia under PM Najib Abdul Razak should take the lead and start the ball rolling.

480 activists to face charges, M'sians' fate unknown

Upes: Israel seems to have been completely taken over by cold-blooded, ruthless renegade reptiles in human guise. All Jews must denounce such arrogant and violent military action and withdraw moral and financial support from this rogue state backed by Christian-Zionist American hawks.

Arul Inthirarajah: Israeli Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch needs to have his head examined to check if there is a brain inside. The soldiers were committing an act of piracy in international waters against unarmed civilians.

No one compelled the soldiers to board the ships (an act of piracy), and to kill innocent civilians (acts of murder). Now, he wants to prosecute those who had the audacity to defend themselves.

Israel is clearly not only a terrorist state, but a pariah state as well, committing violence one expects only from thugs and terrorists. Does such a state have a right to exist? Certainly not in a world of civilised nations.

PM directs Wisma Putra to 'save' M'sian volunteers

Anonymous: PM Najib Abdul Razak, please do not be ashamed to use the connection via Apco Worldwide. They must have strong connections with the Tel Aviv regime. This is the only chance for you to show money-for-value in the Apco Worldwide contract.

Hopium: This tragedy is sad, not because it is over Palestinian aid, but because it is a violation of humanitarian effort. I hope same level of urgency would be exercised when other humanitarian aids are violated. I hope Israel would release all the detainees without any conditions.

CarL: The Jews considered the Holocaust as an act against humanity. No one came to their aid, and six million was killed. Since then, they have adopted a view that everyone who is not their friend is their enemy. The consider an eye for an eye. Just see what they did to Lebanon. thousands died and you know why? To get back a kidnapped soldier. They never did.

We must not fool around with this country. It has no morals, no heart and does not consider snuffing out attempts (to issue them) dictates any more than a duty.

The fact that the second ship did not get there carrying Matthias Chang is a blessing. Otherwise his short stay in our jails would have been a holiday compared to the barbaric conditions of Israeli prisons.

They have done everything not permitted in law: assassinations and revenge killings and kidnapping those they want to put on trial.
