The recommencement of Anwar Ibrahim’s Sodomy II trail at the Kuala Lumpur High Court has been postponed from July 14, 2010 to July 19, 2010.

NONE In a letter dated today to the Opposition leader’s lawyer Sankara Nair, High Court Deputy Registrar Syamsul Rezal Md Ariff said the former’s application to postpone the hearing under justice Mohd Zabidin Mohd Diah had been approved.

The dates July 14 to 16, 2010, are thus vacated, said Syamsul.

In his letter to the judge dated July 1, 2010, Sankara said the request for the postponement of trial was due to a meeting that Anwar ( right ) and lawyer Karpal Singh are to attend in Parliament on July 14 to 15.

NONE Anwar is on trial for allegedly sodomising Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan ( left ), his former aide, at Unit 11-5-1 of the Desa Damansara Condominium, Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26, 2008.

The PKR advisor faces up to 20 years in jail and whipping, if convicted.
