As elections and the nominations process turned ugly in several PKR divisions in Selangor, most of those which met today gave their nod to Mohd Azmin Ali as their deputy president candidate.

Having picked up 43 nominations since last weekend, Azmin Ali increase his tally to 78 out of a total of 131 divisional AGMs that have met as of press time.

The rest of PKR divisions - about 70 of them - will meet this coming weekend to complete the first round of the party polls. All 205 PKR divisions will have another meeting, this time to vote for the national leadership, over four weekends from Oct 29 to Nov 21.

Among the divisions that nominated Azmin today are Bukit Bintang , Batu , Pensiangan and Jelutong .

Azmin's chief rival, Federal Territory PKR chief Zaid Ibrahim has received 29 nominations, while Perak PKR chairperson Mustaffa Kamil Ayub 16, and PKR strategic director Tian Chua has three.

Today also saw Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim joining the list of eligibles for party No 2, with four nominations, the latest coming from the party's Petaling Jaya Utara (PJU) division.

Fuziah Salleh and Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar have each received one nomination.

Meanwhile, the husband and wife pair Anwar Ibrahim and Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail received one nomination each for party president, from Bukit Bintang and Pensiangan respectively.

Chua wins Batu

azlan Batu , that recently complete its AGM this evening, nominated Wan Azizah for president, and Tian Chua, Shamsul Iskandar, Fuziah Salleh and Subang MP Sivarasa Rasiah for vice-president.

Chua won the division chief post uncontested.

In the race for vice president, Bukit Bintang nominated Padang Serai MP N Gobalakrishnan, Khalid, Johor PKR chief Chua Jui Meng, and PKR Youth permanent chairperson Yahya Sahri.

Pensiangan nominated Jeffrey Kitingan, Nurul Izzah, Tuaran PKR chief Ansari Abdullah and Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Mansor Othman.

The six states that are having their AGMs this evening are Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Sarawak, Federal Territory, Selangor and Sabah.
