Shouldn't the ustazah apologise?

vox populi small thumbnail 'If Christianity is linked to immorality, then by logical conclusion, Islam is linked to world terrorism. How shallow can this ustazah's thinking be?'

TV9 apologises over guest panellist's remarks

YF: TV9 should get Siti Nor Bahyah Mahamood to apologise for her arrogant and misguided error. If she is unwilling to apologise then it is proof that Siti does not have the ability to tell the truth, what more be a mentor or motivator for Muslims.

If TV9 continues to show Siti's shows, then TV9 (and Astro) is promoting an Islam that condones lying and protects liars. Is that the kind of religious teaching you want your kids to watch? May God speak to you on this.

Atan-Toyol: TV9, your programmes are often viewed by people of different faiths and beliefs. Please be sensitive, otherwise you are inviting criticisms to the Islamic religion when Muslim panellists start condemning peoples of other faith. Please encourage your so-called experts to do some research first before they present their talks, etc. Review the scripts before hand.

The ustazah in question, Siti Nor Bahyah, has an arrogant style of presentation, conveying a message as if she is the most learned of them all. Of course, that's her style and she has the right to it, but please advise her that her style is sometimes offensive, even to some Muslim viewers, especially men. I sometimes get rather annoyed with her seemingly belittling people by her 'flamboyant' style.

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: Non-Muslims should stop watching any Media Prima channels and also stop advertising on their networks. This is a company that has virtual control of all the tele-media in the country and has become the mouthpiece of Umno. They have no journalistic independence and standards. This incident is only one of many where Media Prima has played on racial and religious sentiments.

Free Egypt: If Christianity is linked to immorality, then by logical conclusion, Islam is linked to world terrorism. How shallow can this ustazah's thinking be?

Ridzuan Samy: Romans. 6:12 - Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. In Titus 2:12 - Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

From the two verses above we are told that it is not the culture of the Christians to follow Valentine's Day as professed by our half-boiled Siti Nor ‘Bahaya Mahamood'.

Corruption: Truly Malaysia?

Onyourtoes: Christopher Fernandez, please don't say "BN followed suit by beginning to implement policies of transformation". BN only engage in hoodwinking and spinning. Quote me one genuine and substantive reform being undertaken by BN and we shall debate about it.

And you said, "Both sides of the political divide have to set aside their differences to focus on the fight against corruption".

Hello, who is in control of the coffer and policies now? What precisely are you implying to set aside differences? Are you saying Pakatan Rakyat are as corrupted as BN? Or are you saying they should set aside their differences to collude and share the spoils?

To cut the long story short - just say BN has nurtured and perpetuated corruption to the core and as a result, everybody in the country has to learn to be "savvy" to survive. To move forward, we have to change the BN government. To ask BN to reform is to ask them to cut their own nose.

KSN: Christopher Fernandez has to do better than try to be diplomatic and cautious when corruption is involved. Be specific. It is there, everywhere, for all to see. The people and the country are paying a heavy price.

This cannot continue unless we are prepared to accept the fact that Malaysia will fail and more than anybody else, the ordinary people will suffer. The corrupt will run away and live on the loot for generations.

Sandakan: We can never get rid or reduce corruption in Malaysia as corruption is the main pillar of the BN government. People join the BN parties in order to get contracts and projects. The leaders get to their position by bribery, using money or projects. If the BN government becomes clean, they will collapse.

Putera Malaysia: There's no way one can get rid of corruption in Malaysia without getting rid of the ruling government. It's not easy because race and religion have become a very convenient shield to the culprits.

Mahathir given 7 days to name those he met

On your toes: Dr Mahathir Mohamad has morphed into a spin doctor. One day he is a Tanah Melayu fascist, the next day he will a ‘benevolent leader' talking about his priority for racial equality if he were the PM again.

With such a character, how can we ever trust him? Between Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh on one hand, and this spin doctor on the other, I have no doubt whatsoever who to trust.

In any case, it does not matter what he claimed or said - he has no credibility and track record to back his claim. Lee Kuan Yew has written three volumes of his memoirs - his life is an open book for people to praise or criticise.

What about this spin doctor? He has not written one page of himself and this has nothing to do with being humble and modest. He can't. If he ever writes, it will be full of baloney and lies.

Swipenter Dr Mahathir Mohamad might reply: "I remember having met all of them but I can't recall their names, not one of them. You see, it has been more than 24 years ago. Even in the recent royal commission of inquiry on the Lingam-gate scandal, I couldn't recall all the details.

"I don't lie, it's just that my memory is not that good anymore. If it fails me selectively, I can't help it."

Abasir: Given his curious (and strategic) memory loss, evident during the Lingam hearings, we should expect him to forget crucial bits like date, time and venue of the supposed meetings with the ‘opposition leaders'.

But Malaysians will not easily forget the irreparable damage he's done to this country - damage which has handicapped this country for good.
