PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali has expressed pity that PKR deputy president Azmin Ali so easily and wholeheartedly believes what is reported in the mainstream media with regards to his comments over the sex tape.

NONE Mustafa ( right ) said Azmin should not believe what was published in ‘Umno-owned’ media yesterday over that purported the former as saying the Islamist party would review its relationship with PKR following the sex-tape scandal allegedly implicating Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.

The mainstream media, said Mustafa, are only out to create a split within the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition.

"Why does he want to melenting (blow his top)? Why would he take (uncritically) what is reported in these Umno-owned papers?" Mustafa told Malaysiakini .

"Look at the other reports published in non-Umno or BN newspapers like Harakah and others, which are more responsible in their reporting and give a clearer picture," he said.

Describing remarks reportedly made by Mustafa that were “hurtful” to PKR and Anwar, Azmin in his Twitter postings said an explanation is in order by the PAS secretary-general.

“Is it true that Mustafa Ali made those statements to hurt the feelings of PKR and Anwar? The people demand an explanation,” wrote Azmin earlier this afternoon.

Although Azmin did not specifically identify what it is that Mustafa had said that was hurtful, it was clear that he was referring to Mustafa's statement that PAS would put off judgement on the sex video for now until police investigations were completed.

Not mincing his words in his second tweet, Azmin said that all party leaders should focus on the bigger picture of the Pakatan coalition instead of trying to be a “jaguh kampung” (village champion).

“Leaders should follow the bigger framework and agenda of Pakatan. Don't be a village champion with no relevance and yet still want to seek attention,” said Azmin.

In words the he termed were “friendly advice” to PAS, Azmin said party leaders should be careful when commenting to the mainstream media.
