The family members of the six individuals detained under the Emergency Ordinance today can visit them at the federal police headquarters on Monday, police said.

A Bukit Aman spokesman said they cannot immediately to visit the individuals, including Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj, as they were still being questioned by police.

You can come on Monday, not today or tomorrow," he said to reporters and also a group which had gathered at the entrance of Bukit Aman on learning that they were being held there.

The six, who were among 50 people detained at the Sungai Dua toll plaza in Kepala Batas, Penang on Saturday, were re-arrested under Section 2 (1) of the Emergency Ordinance 1969 today.

Waging war against Agong

The re-arrests were made after their remand under Section Section 122 of the Penal Code for allegedly attempting to wage war against the king, expired today.     

    

All the six, who are also members of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), were suspected to be involved with foreign elements and had subversive tendencies.

The group that came to Bukit Aman made up of 50 individuals and led by lawyer K Arumugam arrived at the gates of Bukit Aman at around 9pm.

They left an hour later after being asked to come back on Monday.
