Two Umno leaders have denied that they were involved in the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal.

According to a report published in today's Malay daily, Berita Harian both Works Minister Shaziman Mansor and Setiawangsa MP Zulhasnan Rafique dismissed the opposition's allegation that the company had given them cattle.

NONE Contacted by the Umno-linked media, Shaziman ( right ) said he will request an explanation from the Tampin Umno division - of which he is the chairperson - on the matter after returning from his hajj pilgrimage.

"I want to know whether my division has accepted any cattle from NFC.

"I never received any cattle from the NFC, and I also never asked for any cattle from it", he was quoted as saying.

However, the Tampin MP thanked NFC if it had donated the animals to the needy in his constituency.

"Maybe the cattle were given without my knowledge, or I overlooked it. Therefore, I would like to say thank you", he added.

The company's financial record, he claimed, also showed that cattle worth RM70,000 had been sold on credit to Zulhasnan in 2008; with the sum fully settled only in 2009.

Zulhasnan had told Berita Harian that the company had been given the full amount a week after delivery of the cattle for the 2008 Aidiladha festival in his constituency.

"I did buy the cattle but not on credit as alleged, instead cash payment was made after receiving the cattle", said the former Federal Territories minister.
