Put the party renegades in their places

VOXPOP 'National PAS sec-gen Mustafa Ali is the right person to speak out against Hasan Ali and Nasharuddin Md Isa.'

Mustafa: Hasan and Nasha caught in Umno's web

vox populi small thumbnail Anonymous_5fb: Both former Selangor PAS chief Hasan Ali and former deputy president Nasharuddin Md Isa are not caught in Umno's web, but instead walked willingly into it for reasons they know best.

How on earth can any reasonable man agree or believe in the so-called struggles of Umno after so many fraud, malpractices, crimes and immoral acts unearthed by the alternative media?

These two politicians have no more credibility as far as I am concerned.

Ferdtan: This is the first time that a national PAS leader came out so unequivocally lashing out at Hasan and Nasharuddin for hurting the party with their loaded statements.

Mustafa Ali, the national PAS secretary-general, is the right person who can put these two renegades in their places.

Other than the party president (who has to maintain his decorum not to go down to the level to reprimand his members), Mustafa who did not contest in the last party election can be considered as neutral as far as Hasan Ali and Nasharuddin are concerned.

That is the reason why Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, who was then deputy Selangor PAS chief (resigned before 2011 party election due to differences with Hasan Ali), did not voiced out too strongly against his former boss: this can be seen as a vendetta.

Similarly deputy president Mat Sabu cannot in the same way be seen to hit out openly at Nasharuddin - he was previously an unsuccessful contender for national deputy party chief. Way to go, PAS.

Anonymous: Khalid Samad is the darling of the opposition parties. He is strong-minded, fair, and true to the teachings of Islam.

Extremely suitable for the prime minister slot and definitely all Malaysians would love to see him aspire for the post and would gladly support him fully.

Akucina: It took many years for the non-Malay/Muslims to believe that PAS is a right Malay/Muslim political party to replace its corrupt arch-enemy.

This was demonstrated in the last GE12. Hasan and Nasharuddin are destroying the faith of the non-Malay/Muslims in PAS. PAS must not let these Trojans destroy its ambition to secure Putrajaya.

BTN: PAS has come a long way and it is accepted as a truly Islamic party which champions not only Muslims in this country but also the right of others.

There in nothing wrong with championing the cause of Islam but the problem lies in those who used Islam for their own evil purpose. Look at Umno and compare it to PAS, and you can judge for yourself.

Ashoka PJ: PAS, don't wash dirty linen in public. We have just got over the P Ramasamy-Karpal Singh spat in DAP and now this. Just quietly drop Hasan and Nasharuddin in the next GE.

Karpal-Ramasamy spat resolved, says DAP panel

Fairnessforall: I still feel that Penang Deputy Chief Minister P Ramasamy had no right to release the names of his cronies who will be standing for election as he has no right to decide.

So far, Tamil daily Makkal Osai had only retracted the ‘godfather' quote but did not retract the story that Ramasamy had released the names of the candidates without the approval of DAP.

For all we know, this may be just a ‘sandiwara' (act) by BN using Makkal Osai .

So please beware of Ramasamy. I still do not trust him as he has yet to prove himself unlike DAP chairperson Karpal Singh.

Roy Kelante: The mediatiation should have done prior to the last Sunday's DAP convention or at least DAP chairperson Karpal should have used his head rather than heart. There is no point in carrying out damage control now.

Fairplayer: It doesn't matter who the Pakatan candidates are as long as the chosen ones are men and women who cannot be bought with money. The candidates have to be individuals with unshakeable morals, ethics and principles.

Ksn: It looks as though DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang's wisdom and maturity have prevailed. Good for DAP. With the retraction from the newspaper, what has the ‘godfather' to say?

Is this not what Rama had said in his denial? Is that not what probably Rama wanted to explain to the godfather who did not show even elementary courtesy to deputy chief minister of Penang, a learned professor and a man who has always stood firm fighting for justice?

Not only that the godfather did not show any humility, he publicly shamed Rama. How come the godfather was not even warned by DAP for his unbecoming behavior?

I know a lot people have a lot of respect for the godfather for his stand on many national issues and his fearlessness, including yours truly. But here, the godfather came out looking silly and arrogant.

Milosevic: Opposition politicians are but vessels to carry out the urgent quest for national renewal. Yes, many have sacrificed for the nation, certainly Karpal has, and are entitled to respect, fame and the positions they hold.

But at this moment, the needs of Malaysia are bigger than the pride of any politician. It is the decay of Umno and the deep wish of much of the rakyat to propel the nation forward that is the vital force making the opposition what they are.

It is imperative that the egos of these men and women are suppressed and they become humble conduits for a broader goal.

If you feel you are not the person for this self-sacrificing role, and see or are told that others are better able to serve, please step aside for the sake of the nation.

One test: Do you have a strong feeling that the national needs are more important than your personal needs and feelings of importance deep inside.

If no, then do the right thing. If yes, we are behind you.
