Gerakan deputy president Chang Ko Youn today declared MCA president Chua Soi Lek as the unofficial winner of yesterday's debate at the conference ‘Malaysian Chinese at the Political Crossroads’ .

NONE In a Facebook posting this morning, Chang ( right ) said MCA's debate opponent DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng was not able to articulate his points in a mature manner.

"From yesterday's debate, Chua Soi Lek is the winner. it shows Guan Eng is good in stirring emotion but is a loser in a matured and sensible debate.

"Guan Eng tried to blend in racial arguments but was deflected by Soi Lek," he said.

At the debate entitled ‘Will a two party system lead to a two race system’in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Lim had questioned why MCA was not up in arms over its leaders being charged for the Port Klang Free Trade Zone (PKFZ) scandal while Umno leaders are let off the hook.

chua soi lek and lim guan eng debate Chua subsequently rebutted by stressing that MCA was confident in the judicial system and accused Lim of playing the race card.

Chang also took a swipe at Lim for an equally high profile debate in 2008 against Gerakan president Koh Tsu Koon.

"He (Lim) lost the debate in 2008 to Koh Tsu Koon and dared not challenge Koh to a debate ever since," he said.

Meanwhile, both Chua and Lim after the highly anticipated debate yesterday said it was up to the people to judge who had won.
