PKR’s Wangsa Maju office was broken into as party leaders converged in Kuantan for a retreat last weekend in what the party suspects is a planned attack.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said the break in was discovered yesterday morning where the door had been found pried open.

"Two computers, a camera, documents and RM750 were stolen," she said yesterday.

There was also an attempt to break into Wangsa Maju PKR parliamentary coordinator Tan Kee Kwong's home but it failed, she added.

Nurul Izzah said local PKR leaders lodged a police report yesterday.

The break-in is believed to have occurred between last Friday and yesterday morning.

Nurul Izzah, who was speaking at a press conference over an attempted assault on her during a ceramah in Pahang on Sunday, said the break-in appeared to be a trend of criminal action against PKR.

"It all looked as if it was planned. This incident (the attempted assault) cannot be separated from the break-in at the Wangsa Maju office and Tan's home," she said.

During a ceramah at Felda Lepar Hilir 1 in Gambang, Pahang, a man had tried to punch Nurul Izzah but party supporters had helped to prevent the attack.

The incident was one of many attempts at physical intimidation that the party has faced since it began its forays into Felda areas to gear up for the coming general election.
