Following Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's decision to step down from her ministerial post next month, Wanita Umno will conduct a nationwide roadshow to explain her decision to its leadership in all states.
Wanita Umno assistant secretary Rosni Sohar told
Sin Chew Daily
that she and publicity chief Hamidah Osman (

According to the report published today, Shahrizat will not join the briefings.
"We will not hold large briefings for state Wanita but just explain to the state exco members. This is enough for us to convey the right messages," Rosni is quoted as saying.
"Basically, this development has not hit or shaken the morale of Wanita members."
Shahrizat announced on Sunday that she would step down as women, family and community development minister when her three-year senatorship expires on April 8.
Rosni also revealed that more than 90 percent of the national WanitaUmno exco members have accepted Shahrizat's decision and will not recommend a leader from the wing to fill the vacancy, since such appointments are the prerogative of the prime minister.
"Initially the excos disagreed and were dissatisfied with her proposal (to resign) but we accepted it after she explained it."
Although the exco members were slightly disappointed over Shahrizat's decision, they have accepted it in the interests of Umno, the nation and the people, and to ensure BN's victory in the next general election, she said.
The leaders of the wing, added Rosni, would continue to support Shahrizat as Wanita chief.
