Who do you believe - Maira or Bolat?

YOURSAY 'Maira, if you are still happily married to Bolat, why did he not appear in any function of your son's engagement?'

Daniyar's mum dismisses allegations as 'absurd'

your say Cala: Maira Nazarbayev's (the mother of PM Najib Razak's future son-in-law Daniyar) clarification is not a clarification at all.

She displays characteristics of a pathological liar because under duress, instead of making clear the situation, more unanswered issues are raised.

If her intention is to explain her son's innocence to a number of allegations leveled (faked high school certificate to gain entry into Columbia University, faked family tree, illegal transfer of properties, etc), surely a head-on answers will dispel any suspicion anyone has on the son.

Indeed, the last thing she should do is to sweep everything under the carpet in the name of private matter.

Who will take her words seriously when the victim in the case (Daniyar's stepfather Bolat) remains silent?

LittleGiant: Madam Maira, don't stress yourself too much. Go enjoy your holiday in Europe first. That is more important. But after returning from your holiday, be prepared to face the storm.

Then again, you don't have to worry at all. Just sign up for some coaching with our Umno-BN politicians.

They will be ever willing to give you lessons in "how to tell lies, cheat, forge, swindle, fabricate tales, erase records and evidence without a trace, secure multi-million dollar contracts with zero capital, expertise and experience, etc, etc."

You can also learn from them the magic of "how to make disappear completely" crucial but unfavourable witnesses in court cases involving government leaders.

And, Madam Maira, please be rest assured that all this coaching and lessons could be offered at no cost to you and to your son, Daniyar. Our government will make sure the cost is borne by our taxpayers.

Fairnessforall: If you are still happily married to Bolat, why did he not appear in any function of your son's engagement? Who are you trying to fool. Please don't try to do a Rosmah on us.

Pemerhati: If everything said in the lawsuit is a pack of lies, then Maira should tell Bolat's lawyers, who are said to be looking for her son, where he is, so that they can reach him.

Her son can then go to the court and tell the truth. But if her son is in hiding and is avoiding the lawyers, then Maira would be as believable as Dr Mahathir Mohamad's favourite lawyer, Mr Correct, Correct, Correct.

Lim Chong Leong: The alleged outlaws are going to be in-laws. Whatever the truth may be, they are certainly good at attracting all the wrong publicity.

Both the mothers have made their statements, but where is Dani boy? What has he got to say about this? Especially about the fake documents to get into Columbia.

Amused Malaysian: Wow, this is a very Umno-like statement - just deny and accuse the media of political manipulation. Why would the New York Post manipulate - they probably would not even know where Khazakstan was.

Odin: Madam, if my comprehension of English is any good, then your statement - released through your PR spokesperson - clearly shows that you are completely unable to tell the truth.

We understand that Bolat Nazarbayev has divorced you after discovering your perfidy, but in your statement you stated, inter alia, "My husband Bolat and I remain committed to our children, and will resolve this matter privately. We are proud of all our children."

How could he be your husband when you are divorced? On the other hand, if you have committed an oversight in writing ‘husband' instead of ‘ex-husband', then it goes to show that you have not taken care to offer facts.

What other misinformation have you dished out? If New York Post has indeed published fabrications to besmirch you and your son, then sue the paper.

Anonymous # 6157493148: Surely this world's best democracy state is a safe heaven for Daniyar. There is no way Interpol could nab him. Big daddy-in-law can see to it that his entry records disappeared like magic.

Doc: The movie ‘Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan' is more interesting then the above sob story.

Kairos: These allegedly high-level crooks can deny for all they want, the facts speak for themselves.

The agent that exposed this scam is a credible one unlike the gutter journalism of Utusan Malaysia or the New Straits Times . These guys have done their homework well. There has to be some truth in it.

Guess what, our own PM's family is marrying into this crooked one. Well, I suppose, it takes one to know one.

True, the opposition may not be perfect. But at least there are some squeaky clean ones there for a change while there is none - yes, not one - in the present government.

Onyourtoes: See, this woman was talking nonsense. The way she denied convinced me that whatever that were alleged were true. What has her proposed vacation to do with the case involved?

She said she was not aware who has filed the case against her son? You believe that? She think Malaysians are like those in her country kept ignorant and stupid.

What about her son's admission to Columbia University? Can she confirm or deny that? Can she ask the university to issue a statement if everything is above board?

It is not a private matter if someone cheated to gain admission to a university, but I guess this third world well-connected man will never understand that.

Blind Freddo: Who else would you ask for verification of this man's innocence? Perhaps his stepfather might tell a different story.

But it does seem that the ladies have definitely been taken in by this smooth-talking, good-looking young conman.

Pak Good Teh: Where is Daniyar? He is probably making preparations to be Umno Youth chief.

Khairy Jamaluddin should get ready to step down. This has always been the case with the PM and his son-in-law in Bolehland.
