A PKR parliamentarian has revealed a price tag of RM14.9 million for a 0.9km-long road that leads to the Sabah state assembly building.
“Sabah Chief Minister (Musa Aman) recently officially opened a new road leading to the state assembly buiding.
“The state Public Works Department (PWD) head announced that the cost was RM14.9 million,” claimed Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak) (

) in a supplementary question during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He argued that it was this kind of spending behaviour that would lead to development being slow in East Malaysia.
Azmin said that even in the newly-announced 2013 Budget, Sabah and Sarawak were only mentioned five times and even then not in any substantial expenditures.
The Gombak MP claimed that the opposition Pakatan Rakyat's shadow budget does better.
Deputy Works Minister Yong Khoon Seng, who fielded Azmin's question, said the matter diverged too far from the original question on the status of upgrading works on the Kota Kinabalu-Sindumin road.
Yong refused to comment on the matter further in the House, although he said that such matters is always open for debate, but in the proper forum.
