Pakatan Rakyat has admitted that it has "overlooked" the matter of including Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang as states that must receive full oil royalty from Petronas.

Pakatan Rakyat has admitted that it has "overlooked" the matter of including Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang as states that must receive full oil royalty from Petronas, in the printed version of their election manifesto.

In their manifesto launched yesterday, only Sabah and Sarawak are mentioned as the states that will get an increase in royalty, from five percent currently to 20 percent.

NONE "That is an error, it should read oil-producing states, not only Sabah and Sarawak," admitted PAS central working committee member Dzulkefly Ahmad ( left ), who sits on the Pakatan committee which had drafted the document.

"When it was printed, it did not come out (as it should have). This is regrettable. We were only informed yesterday (after the convention)."

He explained that Pakatan has corrected the copy in their online version and for future use.

The PAS leaders explained that the error was spotted earlier and information relayed to the printers, but was somehow overlooked when in the final print.

Dzulkefly said Pakatan will hold a press conference to explain the mix-up tomorrow at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

When contacted, PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli confirmed the "typo", adding that discussions had revolved around the Kuching Declaration which principally involves Sabah and Sarawak, but should also include all petroleum-producing states.

This was somehow not addressed in the final copy, he said.

"It was a slight mix-up in the matter of the presentation, but we always consider all the states," he said.

The oil royalty issue is one of the major thrusts of the Pakatan campaign, spearheading their forays into Sabah and Sarawak as well as the mainstay of their psy-war against the BN in Kelantan and Terengganu.
