JMM protests against Tian Chua at PKR office again

Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) and 29 other NGOs organised their second protest against PKR vice-president Tian Chua in front of PKR headquarters today.
A crowd of 20 to 25 people gathered in front of the PKR headquarters in Tropicana, Petaling Jaya, about 3.45pm in a protest that lasted 15 minutes.
Wearing red armbands and carrying banners criticising opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and Tian Chua, the gathering demanded that Tian Chua apologises for his alleged remarks that the Lahad Datu intrusion was an "Umno
sandiwara
(play)".
They demanded that Tian Chua apologises to the widows of soldiers and police officers who died in the ongoing Lahad Datu crisis, chanting "Lahanat Tian Chua!" repeatedly.
However, there was no repeat of the ‘egg-throwing incident’ that took place during their first protest at the party headquarters on March 11.
PKR staff brought down the front shutters of the office as a precaution, while police officers stopped the protesters from entering the PKR headquarters compound.
On the advice of several police officers, the protesters retreated to their gathering point some 50 metres from the office, before exchanging words with PKR members who shouted at them to "go back!" from the first floor of their office.
The group attempted to head back to the PKR headquarters, but police had parked a patrol car to block their march.
Riot police were also deployed, but they did not have to take positions as the group disbanded shortly after.
JMM deputy president Omar Salleh (

"All we are asking for is an apology," Omar said.
"The Lahad Datu issue has not yet ended. Then why do you have to make statements like that?" he asked.
Omar also said the group would gather more people for their next protest "soon".
During the previous protest, eggs and other projectiles were pelted at the PKR office, while the police officers did not take any action to curb the protesters.
